Reflexology creates balance in the mind & body encouraging relaxation & an overall sense of wellbeing.
Reflexology works on the theory that areas on the feet, or hands, mirror different organs & parts of the body. Firm but gentle massage & pressure to these reflex points stimulates a response to the related part of the body. Reflexology treats the whole person, rather than specific conditions to promote relaxation, stimulate circulation, improve sleep & mood, & relieve tension.
Reflexology may help you with:anxiety
headaches & migraines
stress related conditions
symptoms of the menopause
Reflexology can also help
support those living with serious illnesses.
A reflexology session lasts an hour, you will be asked to remove only your shoes & socks.
I use a wonderful foot balm which is 100% organic, cruelty-free, suitable for vegans and handmade by a local company.
The treatment takes place on a treatment couch or reclining chair & starts with a relaxing foot & lower leg massage to stimulate circulation & promote relaxation & the body's natural healing ability.
Gentle but firm pressure is then applied to reflex points on the feet, the amount of pressure will be adjusted to your preference. During the treatment, you may feel tingling or similar sensations along with an overall sense of calm & wellbeing.
I am a member of the Association of Reflexologists, giving you the reassurance that I am fully qualified, insured & I abide by their code of practice & ethics.
Reiki uses the universal energy around us to bring balance & harmony to the mind & body. Reiki aims to strengthen & restore your natural energy flow, clearing energy imbalances. The therapy encourages your body's natural ability to heal itself and is especially good for relaxation, relieving stress, improving mood, sleep & promoting an overall sense of wellbeing.
The Japanese word Reiki translates as spiritual (Rei) energy (Ki). The system of Reiki was founded by Mikao Usui in 1902 & has evolved into various forms around the world. I practice Usui Reiki Ryoho, the original Japanese style of Reiki & can trace my training lineage directly back to Mikao Usui. Reiki is not affiliated with any religion or belief system and is a safe, non-intrusive therapy suitable for everyone.
The treatment is usually carried out on a treatment couch but is a versatile therapy that can be carried out anywhere where the recipient & practitioner is comfortable. You will be asked to remove just your shoes. During the session, I lightly touch or hold my hands over your fully clothed body, channelling the universal energy through my hands to you.
During the Reiki session, most feel calm and deeply relaxed, you may also feel a tingling sensation, warmth, feeling cool or twitching.
Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage uses massage & pressure points on the head, neck, shoulders & face to induce relaxation, thereby relieving stress & tension, it encourages the release of endorphins to lift your mood.
It may help with:
relieving headache, earache & eyestrain
easing mental tiredness
promoting a general feeling of wellbeing
Indian head massage was traditionally carried out as a seated massage & worked on the head & hair only, my 30-minute session reflects this traditional approach. The 60-minute session also includes the shoulders & neck for deeper relaxation. Where appropriate, I use a small amount of a pre-blended balm on your hair & face.
